I recently read an article about how different and how much easier parenting used to be, back when our parents were raising us. There were less demands, less outside pressure, but now our obligations as mothers are different than our own moms experienced at our age.

When we got to Punta Cana last weekend, I noticed that NONE of us could really stop and enjoy ourselves right away. We were pulled in a million directions and my husband said this was a true inside look to how we live our lives.

True. We’re rushed. We hurry.

But there’s a silver lining.

We can actually correct the situation because we know what’s happening. I think that we are MORE mindful than our parents were of being present and because of that, we can do better.

We can make time.

There may be more distractions in the way of screen time and that whole “being busy” thing, but the fact that we’re more aware means something. It means we have the power to act and change things about our lives.
