I’m a firm believer in acceptance. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don’t agree with everyone, but that doesn’t mean I do not respect them.
I think social media has created an “I’m right and you’re wrong culture” that often turns cruel. The Donald Trump Syndrome, I call it.
“YOU EITHER BELIEVE WHAT I BELIEVE OR YOU SUCK AND I HATE YOU!”
What happened to discussion? What happened to actually listening to another perspective, digesting it and critically assessing your position and beliefs.
What happened to respectfully disagreeing?
I am not a hunter. I can’t watch hunting shows. I don’t eat meat very often. I avoid it as much as I can, but I certainly don’t judge hunters as bad people. I have many friends and family who hunt, many of them are more connected to nature than a lot of vegans I know. I have many friends and family that are vegetarian and vegan. Do I judge them? No I don’t.
Whichever side you are on, I hope you find this MF’s Trans Canada Nissan Drive By informative, insightful, thought provoking and of course fun.
Thanks very much to Keith Beasley for taking the time to hang out with me. We literally talked for over an hour in my Pathfinder, from politics, to religion to hunting. I think it is so important to discuss ideas and perspectives with other people, it makes us more well rounded, empathetic and tolerant.
