Happy Father’s Day weekend to all the great Dad’s out there, including mine of course and to the Get Fit With Jer Army
A couple of weeks ago I realized my progress wasn’t where I wanted it to be. I wasn’t dropping weight at the rate I wanted.
Now I know I’ve said before it’s not about the number, it’s about how you feel so I did some self reflection and took a look at my diet.
I wasn’t feeling my best and I was really sick back in April and part of May and the light bulb went off. Plain and simple, my will power and discipline was mediocre. I can do better. We all can.
So last week I tracked my progress and wrote down what I consumed in a week and the results told me where I was making good choices and where I was making bad choices.
I’m not a food expert obviously, so I won’t tell you what’s best and not best to eat, I’ll leave that for educated people in that field (who will be tuning in to Get Fit with Jer in the coming weeks to give us helpful advice).
I also tracked my mood and energy level, it proved that my body and mind react differently when I eat certain foods. Food matters.
This week I felt stronger and had more energy in my workouts. In fact Thursday night I had a pretty intense workout at Jackson Park I rested and refuelled for 90 min then went and played ball hockey. The progress is empowering, for me to be able to do that kind of physical activity back to back in the same night motivated me and I felt so awesome!

As always I continue to learn on my journey to a healthier and fitter lifestyle. I had a “reset” week with a great eye opener. I’m back on track with my diet and nutrition and noticing a difference in all aspects of my life.
We all fall off the wagon. It’s acknowledging it, taking responsibility and getting back on track that’s the difference between success and failure. I better check myself before I wreck myself !!!!
Keep fit my friends. Fall in love with the process. By the way Get Fit with Jer now has a facebook page! Please join the get with jer army and let’s keep each other on the fitness and health wagon! CLICK HERE TO LIKE THE GET FIT WITH JER FACEBOOK PAGE!
