I’m absolutely in LOVE with my stand up paddle board!
I got it from Cottage Toys on May 30 and it is one of the best summer fitness toys I’ve ever had.
From relaxation and mediation to power paddling to get a six pack, it’s the toy that keeps on giving.
My buddy Jer, aka Get Fit With Jer is willing to trying anything to increase his physical fitness. His journey of attaining a healthier lifestyle means he’s opened his mind to trying new and challenging activities.
I took him with me to a Saturday morning drop in SUP yoga class at Harbourtown McCracken’s Landing on Stony Lake. Classes are $40 and offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9am, $30 if you buy a bundle of six. Classes include the board, paddle and an hour of paddling after the yoga class.

I also caught up with Donna Rork, the owner of Cottage Toys. I wanted her to teach me how to “up” my stand up paddle board game and get an awesome core workout.
Jer and I both learned a lot in this Fitness Friday VLOG, watch this (watch time 5:45).

The stand up paddle board was a big challenge for Jer, BUT HE TRIED IT.
Jer never joined us in the SUP Yoga class because he wasn’t comfortable standing on the board and we did paddle a fair distance out on the lake to do the class.
With a few more lessons and patience, Jer will get the hang of it. That’s the moral of the story, step out of your comfort zone, try it, fall down and get back up.
In the wise words of the great one: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”
Start shooting, I gotta go. I have a six pack to get with that power paddle Donna showed me?

Thats awesome, Yoga on a SUP board… I’ve never seen this before. How hard (easy) it is?
Its very tricky to start! I would definitely suggest a beginner class!! But I loved it!!
