In August of 2018 I  was invited on a press trip.

A press trip showcasing why Sonoma County is a perfect place to get married.

I wasn’t getting married.

I don’t really write or vlog about weddings, BUT the owner of Venone PR  had a last minute opening and she knows I love to travel, so away I went, and wow I was not disappointed.

I’ve been to California, and I love it and Sonoma County lived up to the California reputation:

Amazing food.

Incredible wine.

Stunning scenery.

Easygoing and approachable locals.

We arrived in San Francisco and boarded the Beau Wines Tour bus.

Our first stop was lunch at Servino Ristorante located in Tiburon.  It’s a great spot to have a elopement, rehearsal dinner, or a wedding up to 150 people. Or just a great overall, waterfront restaurant along the San Francisco Bay.

Next, we were off to Sonoma County to visit the Osmosis Day Spa.

The spa provided an incredible Japanese inspired spa treatment called a “Cedar Enzyme Foot Bath treatment”, we also toured the stunning property. This is a great venue for group spa treatments, or for a bride to relax during her hectic destination wedding week.

We wrapped up the day with a welcome party hosted by Off The Beaten Path
The next day we took in a wedding gown exhibit at Petaluma Museum.
It was fascinating to see wedding gowns throughout history and learn that wedding gowns were originally dark grey and black.
We then visited a local ranch which is how most of the food in Sonoma County is sourced. Beffa Springs Ranch puts a whole new meaning to fresh food!
Next stop was a delicious farm to table lunch prepared by Off The Beaten Path at a Distinct Locations venue. The wine was from Silver Trident Winery.
Tuesday was a knock your socks off kind of night: We ate dinner in a CAVE!
We travelled up a steep embankment to Petroni Vineyards! To say it was breathtaking would be an understatement. This was an unforgettable experience.

The next morning we were up bright and early to visit K Squared Cellars & Artisan Alley where they had a fun basketball game. (I must say I was pretty good at it… I think the wine helped!)

Our picnic lunch at Front Porch Farm (which you can book through Distinct Locations) was next and in keeping with the Sonoma County theme. It was FABULOUS.
I think my final night in Sonoma County was my favourite. It was at a private exclusive estate that rents their property out through Off The Beaten Path.
It truly was magical.
Thank you so much to Venone PR for the opportunity and to our major trip supporters, Off The Beaten Path, Sonoma County, and Beau Wine Tours. Photos are Krista Marie Photography.

I had always wanted to rent a houseboat, so you can imagine how excited we were when owners Jill and Frank Quast of Happy Days Houseboats agreed to partner with us and let us share our experience aboard one of their stunning luxury model houseboats for five days.
