“How many kids do you have?” – This is one of the most difficult questions to answer for someone who’s lost a child.

October 15th is recognized as Child Loss Awareness Day. However, the reality is, every day is that day for parents who’ve lost a child.

Melissa Morris shows incredible bravery and strength after going through an unimaginable tragedy. Losing a child is truly every parents nightmare. I’m honoured to have been trusted to share her story and message with all of you.

Trying to carry on after you’ve lost a loved one often seems impossible. You have to take things one day and one deep breath at a time. For Melissa, mindset was everything. She knew she had to make a decision to carry on, for herself and for her family.

Melissa now has a charity called “Hope Delivered”, a program where self care items will be delivered to parents who have lost a child.

Carrying on after a trauma like losing your child doesn’t happen over night, it takes time. Melissa shares her story in hopes of letting others know that they’re not alone. No matter what stage you’ve reached, whether it’s days, weeks or months after a loss – your feelings and your journey are valid.

Be kind to yourself. Take one small step at a time.

*Trigger warning* This interview may be very triggering for some people.

As always, thank you to my sponsor JJ Stewart Motors for investing in me to share these important messages.
