Earlier this year, Dan and I teamed up with Kawartha Food Share to bring you some knowledge and comedy.
Ashley sat in with us on our zoom call while we discussed what Kawartha Food Share is and how they help the community. We also took some basic ingredients and put together an easy yet delicious pasta sauce.
Unfortunately, people have been struggling to put food on the table for their families long before the pandemic. However, this has become increasingly difficult with our current circumstances. This is where Kawartha Food Share comes in.
Kawartha Food Share is an organization that works to provide access to food for those in need. Last year (2019) they were able to donate over 5 million dollars worth of food.
How can you help?
Donate online by clicking here OR mail in a cash or cheque donation.
Donate non-perishable food items at any local grocery store and encourage your friends to do the same.
They’re located at 655 Neal Drive in Peterborough, Ontario.
What food items can you donate?
Tuna, pasta sauce, pasta, peanut butter, canned vegetables, soup/stew, apple sauce, fruit cups, granola bars, mac and cheese, strained tomatoes, condiments, lentils, olive oil, spices and anything else with a stable shelf life.
It was so much fun to connect from a distance and make a meal together. Check out the video below to make homemade pasta sauce with us and have a few laughs.
Thank you to Peterborough Mitsubishi for allowing me to share such important stories and information.
