It goes without saying, COVID-19 has changed our lives. From the young to the elderly, there has been so much grief and loss.
When a friend of mine posted a letter that her niece had written, I knew I needed to interview her.
This 7 year old girl is nothing short of awesome! Briar Johnson is in grade 2 and here is her letter to COVID-19.

“It was different in a bad way.”
The letter really says it all – lives were lost, lives were changed and everything was different in a bad way. 2020 was definitely an emotional rollercoaster.
When I asked Briar how writing this letter made her feel, she said she was happy. She wrote the letter all on her own, no prompting, no assignment, solely for herself. Briar told me it’s good to write things down because it helps you get it out of you head.
After talking about Briar’s letter, she surprised me with a song that her and her sister wrote. Their song is titled “Whatever you do is best for you”. A perfect reminder for self care and perseverance.
The pandemic has certainly been a huge change, and it sometimes feels incredibly defeating.
Briar and her sister said it best. “There might be rough times but we see it through” – lyrics from their song.
