JJ Stewart Motors sponsors me every week to go out into the community and share important stories. For now, instead of parking in my JJ Stewart Motors Caravan, we’re parking at my desk and sharing stories through Zoom. Thank you for allowing me to keep doing what I love!
Ashley’s Story
Everyone you know is going through something you know nothing about. Let that sink in for a second.
When it comes to addiction, there are many forms – alcohol, food, drugs, smoking etc.
For Ashley Watts, pills were the start of a slippery slope that quickly turned into addiction. When the effects of the pills didn’t do the trick anymore, alcohol was added into the mix. Eventually, alcohol became her addiction, leaving the pills behind.
Nothing anyone could have said or done would have made her reach for recovery any sooner. Now, on the other side of addiction, Ashley shared her story with me in hopes of helping someone else.
Agoraphobia is described as a debilitating fear of leaving the house. Due to this, and possibly postpartum depression, Ashley was and felt isolated. She could no longer walk to the mailbox and was having her alcohol delivered.
After rumours started circulating, it was time to set the record straight herself. She took responsibility for her actions and quit her job to get sober.
Over 600 days have passed since Ashley last had a sip of alcohol! 600 DAYS!
Ashley took part in a program through White Path Consulting when she was 1 year sober. It was a program unlike anything she’d ever participated in, a total game changer. The program helped her rid her life of the guilt and shame associated with her addiction.
For so long, Ashley suffered in silence. So now, she shares her story openly in hopes that others won’t feel the same shame as she carried for so long. To follow along with Ashley and her journey, the good, the bad & the ugly, click HERE!
