In our 18th #WeGotThis chat - Ann Douglas - Author of The Mother of All and I talk about the worries some parents have been having about their children losing all these months of schooling and learning.
Instead of worrying about academic ground that may have been lost in recent months, let’s focus on all the important life-learning that has actually been happening in this time; and how adults can continue to encourage a love of learning in children moving forward.
We need to re-think what is our view of the learner. Each child is individual and has their own capacities and capabilities. They have their own natural drive to grow and learn! Growth and development happens over a long period of time and what's most important is that our kids love what they're learning, get excited and engaged about what they're learning, and that way they can change their world to change the rest of the world. I say let's not sweat the small stuff, and let the children lead us!
