I don’t know.
I’m not Jian and I’m not the CBC and I certainly haven’t been privy to the many events that have lead up to his dismissal or “firing” from the CBC.
But of course I have an opinion.
Ghomeshi is smart. Yes he may be weird in bed, and perhaps does shameful even hurtful sexual acts to women, but from a public relations perspective, he’s winning.
As a former broadcaster, TV host, whatever you want to call me, I’ve been on the other side and I can tell you, coming out in front of any disaster with information will almost always work in your favour. Rob Ford take notice of Jian Ghomeshi, he’s exhibiting a skill that many organizations struggling with PR should model after. Wait. Maybe smoking crack doesn’t work regardless of how and when you tell the story?
That’s really all I have to say about that.
Unless you want to learn more…I can teach you…and your organization (is there a shameless self promotion emoticon?)

UPDATE: NOVEMBER 4th 2014…JIAN GHOMESHI IS NOT WINNING. You cannot win any PR battle if you lie. I’m not saying he is because, we haven’t seen this play out in a court as of yet, but when I first wrote this, none of the terrible allegations had been made, and no women had come forward.
