It’s a parents nightmare: you’re child isn’t feeling great. She complains of leg pain, she can’t shake a fever. You visit the doctor to learn the worst: your precious child had leukaemia.

Even writing the words makes me lose my breath.

Shanna is battling leukaemia and her friends and neighbours are stepping up to help raise money for the family during this time.

They have planned a road hockey tournament in the family neighbourhood just west of Peterborough at Edgewood Park.
