It’s not always easy volunteering at my kids school. The little one usually cries when it’s time for me to leave and honestly my kids can get whacky when I’m there. This year has been one of the first years that I can actually go to the school without causing a major scene.
What I love about volunteering is how cool it is to see my kids in their element . It always fascinates me to secretly watch my kids when they think I’m not there. HOW DO THEY FUNCTION WITHOUT ME?!!
Just fine.
This week my kid’s school celebrated an annual tradition; a Christmas turkey dinner served at lunch. Parent council raises money and the whole school jams into well organized, well prepared gym to sit and enjoy a delicious catered turkey dinner.

The school invited the bus drivers and the mayor for turkey too, and they all came! It was really really, really nice. Watch this vlog and see how happy these kids are (2:16).
Turkey Lunch at St Paul Lakefield SchoolMy heart grew two sizes serving a turkey dinner at my kids school. It's so fun to see your kids in their element. It's also amazing to see 18 parents volunteer to serve what has become an annual tradition at this school. The money is raised by parent council and even the bus drivers and the mayor were invited!!!
