Players (formerly Queen’s Players Toronto) is a condensed powerhouse of talent. A sea of the best of the best in acting, singing, directing all come together in a quaint Toronto building called the Tranzac.

The Tranzac theatre intimately seats 150 which creates an incredible atmosphere and energy for both the actors and the audience.

The audience is as much a part of the show as the actors.  The current show, The Clueless Dead, combines the 90s movie Clueless with the fan favourite series, The Walking Dead.  The play was co written and stage managed by my niece Alessandra Ferreri.  The super clever idea was the brain child of Andrew Kelly who then asked Alessandra and Megan Mackeigan to jump on board and co write the script.

The play is directed by Matty Burnes, the new artistic director of Players.  The entire package: Cast, crew and band is incredibly talented and my oh my can the actors SING! It is a rock musical after all!! If you want comedy, satire, wit and Rick Grimes to say “KORRRELLL” over and over you need to see this play.

l-r: Carol (played by Dana Schiemann), Justin Trudeau (played by Andrew Kelly), Rick (played by Paul “PK” Kingston) and  Michonne (played by Candice Gillam)

I laughed, I danced, I sang, I had a great time, the Players is entertainment at its finest, but be warned this play is not for the easily offended and is an age of majority event: 19+!

I have to say, my favourite part was when the “Governor” played by Dave Miller sang Black Dog with an incredible band! Honestly Robert Plant would have been BLOWN AWAY, my jaw was on the ground!

The show is almost sold out, so if you want tickets, HURRRRRRY!!!  It runs June 2-4, and June 9-11th.  Did I mention proceeds go to charity!!  This years charities are: Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Lifeline Syria and Femme InternationalYou can find out more about Players on the website HERE and how much money they have raised through the years (spoiler: it’s reallllly impressive!)

The Clueless Dead: “SEAMLESS”.
