We have a close family, sometimes it’s a bit too close.
Think: My big fat Greek wedding, but one side is Irish and one side is Italian.
Seriously though we all live with a stone’s throw within each other. My kids are very fortunate to have three of their four grandparents very involved in their lives.
Unfortunately they lost their Nonna (Italian for Grandma) seven years ago. It was sudden and heartbreaking. Recently one of my daughter’s best friends lost her grandpa unexpectedly.
I think it made her appreciate how lucky she is. Her 84 year old Nonno was visiting and I captured this footage of her bonding with him over Snapchat.
I know a ton of adults don’t “get” social media and apps like snapschat, but it’s how our kids communicate. They LOVE it when you take an interest in their world. This is my daughter and her 84yr old Nonno Joe bonding and creating memories while Snapchatting. ❤️ Our kids are very lucky to have 3 of their 4 grandparents still here and very involved in their lives. I know their Nonna would have also loved Snapchatting with her granddaughter. ?❤️Grandparents are a gift.
