I am SO excited to take my daughter to see this movie. I recently had a chance to interview Sarah Fisher, the star who plays her real-life best friend Carley Allison in the film, as well as Carley’s family.
Kiss & Cry, which screened to a sold out audience in Toronto on World Cancer Day earlier this month, is a must-see.
Here are some more details about this incredible movie:
Kiss and Cry, directed by critically acclaimed Sean Cisterna (Full Out), is a romantic drama based on the true story of Carley Allison, a promising 18-year-old figure skater and singer who finds love just as she is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
The film stars JUNO Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter, Chantal Kreviazuk (Century Hotel), Luke Bilyk (Hellions, Degrassi: The Next Generation), and Sarah Fisher (Degrassi: The Next Generation, Full Out) – who graciously plays Carley Allison, her real-life best friend. Carley Allison made national headlines when she was undergoing treatment for her extremely rare 1 in 3.5 billion form of cancer.
There’s also a great Peterborough connection to this incredible story. Ryan Moore, of the Peterborough Agricultural Society, and his wife Sarah Moore are first cousins to the Allison Family. Teenagers, mothers, and daughters and anyone who’s been impacted by cancer will love this true story.
Watch the trailer and grab your tickets to come and see the movie at The Venue in Peterborough on March 14th at 7pm (doors open at 6pm). Tickets are $20 and you can purchase them online.
In support of the film, the soundtrack will be also released through Indiecan Records to raise money for Carley’s Angels, which is the foundation created in memory of Carley Allison.
