This Parking with MF segment is taking us all the way to Arlington, Texas – virtually of course.

Don and Mary Conrad have Canadian roots, but live in Texas. Their COVID-19 experience is one of many to be shared.

Both Don and Mary had COVID-19 and their experience was scary to say the least. At a few different points, it was touch and go. Travelling for work is pretty normal for Don, which unfortunately means he has more exposure to the virus.

COVID-19

Their COVID-19 Experience

When he contracted COVID-19 in November in 2020, it started with a runny nose, sore throat and the sniffles. Those symptoms were followed by high fevers that hit at night, fatigue and no sense of taste to anything except sweetness. It’s crazy to think that only 30 minutes after eating dinner with full taste, it was gone so quickly.

Then Mary fell sick. At first, she attributed her sniffles to allergies. But, when she developed a cough she couldn’t shake, her and Don knew something wasn’t right. Her symptoms worsened and she continued to get sicker. Extreme fatigue set in and it felt like she was unable to breathe.

Together, they sat down and had a serious conversation about the consequences of their illness, and neither of them thought sending Mary to the hospital was a good idea. At that point, when patients were going to the hospitals with the virus, they were being placed in a coma – that’s the last thing either of them wanted.

There was a course of 3 days where Mary was in a really bad state. After taking the time to do some research about the benefits of vitamin D3 and zinc, it was time to take action. He also spoke with a nurse at their health clinic who told him patients going into the hospital are being given up to 50,000 IU’s of vitamin D3.

12 hours after taking a high dose of vitamin D3, Mary was significantly better.

What is life like now, after having COVID-19?

Thankfully, they’re no longer positive for the virus!

Because of the need to travel with Don’s work, they wear masks in the house to keep each other safe. However, they’re still dealing with the after math. While Don is experiencing a brain fog/block that makes it difficult to get out the words to his thoughts, Mary is experiencing hair loss, difficulties with her speech and still struggles with her physical strength.

Sit back, get comfortable and listen to what this couple has to say. Their positivity despite fighting COVID-19 and their ongoing side effects is something incredible all in its own.
