I write a beauty blog every week. I love getting my hair done. I love fashion. I love makeup. I love manicured nails. Does that make me shallow? I sure hope not.
Our digital world of filters is making it harder and harder for many people to share their “real” self. My daughter is ready for Instagram. She is ready for the social media world. I have to set an example. I have to be accountable. Her friends follow me. These young easily influenced girls who wanna be beautiful just like the girls on Instagram. I want young and old girls to know that I love myself with and without my makeup.

Most women know about the effort and money we put into looking good. I salute men and women who take care of themselves. I think it’s very important to your mental health to make an effort on your appearance. Our outside determines how we feel on the inside and how we feel on the inside determines how we look on the outside.
This week I spent copious amounts of time at the salon. A place that echoes all the things I’m saying in this blog. Salon Sorella and Day Spa is run by two women are absolutely stunning, Rhonda Hockaday and Sheri Hockaday. They give to the community. They are kind and considerate. Their staff loves them. A true testament of someone’s value and “beauty” is how the people around them treat and perceive them.
The reason I was at the salon so much this week was to prepare for a family vacation to Jamaica. My family is going to the sunny south for a wedding. The girls at the salon and I were laughing about the amount of time it takes to get ready to go away and relax.
So here it is: The vlog that shows how I transform into Cinderella. Honestly though, I would much prefer the “bippity boppity boo” method.
Be a good person. Having empathy and thinking about how your actions will impact someone, that is beauty. Say something nice to someone. Pass it on.
