That was a fun segment. I have to be honest I had never spent much time in Stokes before now and I realllly like it. There is so much “kitchen candy” as I like to call it.
I did end up buying two of these beautiful mugs (only $2.98 each!) Which as you can see, are PERFECT for chai tea lattes!
So now that you know I LOVE my salad spinner I thought I would share my salad dressing recipe with you. I eat a ton of salad. I love it because it can be as hardy or as light as you want it. I NEVER buy salad dressing because I find it easier to make my own and quite honestly most salad dressings are FULL of crummy ingredients like sugar, preservatives and extra stuff your body doesn’t need or want.
I never measure out my ingredients, I learned from my Mother-in-Law who made the best salads and always just eyeballed it. The general rule of thumb is double or even triple the oil to the vinegar mixture:
- Olive Oil (approx 1/2 cup)
- Apple Cider Vinegar (approx 1/4 cup)
- Salt/Pepper (tsp each)
Seriously it is that easy. Now you can vary this recipe depending on what kind of salad you’re making. For example I will swap the apple cider for balsamic vinegar or regular vinegar. You can also add honey, agave or maple syrup if you are looking for a sweet kick. I have also added the juice from feta cheese as well (i love feta in my kale salad). It is salty and gives a great kick to the salad (works really well with kale). If you would like, I can whip up a video and post it this coming week to show to you how easy it is.
Get cooking and eat healthy, I promise your mind and body will thank you!
