I love birthdays. I love my birthday, I love my kids birthdays!
I was talking about birthdays to a friend and she asked me, do your other kids get jealous when it’s their brother or sister’s birthday?
Touch wood, we have never had to deal with any jealousy or animosity with birthday parties. But I have a theory why. I posted this on Instagram explaining my theory:
We actually call it birthday week at our house. The day of the birthday is usually dedicated to family. The weekend after is dedicated to school friends/cousins. This year Marcello chose to have his friend birthday at the OFAH Mario Cortellucci Hunting and Fishing Heritage Centre in Peterborough ON.
It is a fabulous place. Full of Ontario wildlife and hands on learning.
The birthday party at the centre includes a choice of two activities (fishing, archery, movie with popcorn, or air gun shooting range) and the staff is great and helpful.
This year Marcello chose archery and a movie.
HE LOVED IT! I think we may have found him a sport he actually likes!!

You can bring in your own food and cake, and the centre gave the birthday boy a present too!
Every community needs a beautiful hands on learning facility like OFAH HFHC . Did you know you can visit the centre anytime! They are open all week for the public and admission is $5 per person!

This would be great, my hubby loves hunting and so badly wants me to join him, but it’s not my thing. I think this could be a nice meet in the middle family day, still doing something hunting/ sporting ,without be out in the cold ,or having to wake up before dawn.
I went here last year with my oldest on a school trip. It was amazing! I would love to bring the rest of my family to see this amazing place!

I did a class trip there with my son 2 years ago and he loved it. Would be a really nice place to go as a family so my daughter and husband could get the experience of it too.
Would love my family to see it again. We were first there when it opened. Would love to see what has been added.
We have never been there and I think it would be a great family adventure!
I would love to visit OFAH with our family as our grandson loves fishing and exploring the great outdoors with his daddy. We would benefit from this hands on learning centre
Wow! This sounds amazing and yet we never knew about it! We would love the opportunity to experience this as a Family as fishing, movies archery and being able to try a gun range would make us all happy lol! Love your blogs and learn alot from your experiences! Thanks for the opportunity!
I really think my kids would enjoy visiting! We have never been and I am always looking for fun things to do locally.
