This is Lily Bullock and her heifer Nina. Lily was one of hundreds of kids who took part in the annual Royal Winter Fair.
Agriculture and 4H is an incredible opportunity for kids to learn great life skills. It can be a hidden gem for a lot of kids who don’t fit into mainstream sports.
I have three kids, one who has no interest in team sports. It’s sometimes hard to find other activities for that kid who doesn’t fit with the mainstream or popular activities. Art, martial arts, cubs, beavers, music, there is a lot to choose from, but sometimes it’s tough to find the right activity that fits with your child and your family.
4H is a pretty cool activity that doesn’t get quite as much media attention as perhaps it should.

I caught up with Lily, a long time 4H member at her farm in Selwyn ON. Here’s a wee VLOG with Lily, Nina and her Dad Randy who is very proud of his daughter’s accomplishments.
