For so many years we tried to take in fireworks, but the kids would have a meltdown, run away, or just be clingy and unenjoyable.
We spent more energy just trying to keep them alive rather than enjoying them.
I wish I could go back and say to myself: “Don’t stress about doing things you think you should.”
I know it’s hard to stay cooped up when they’re small, but sometimes just staying in is more than OK, because one day they will be able to stay up late. They will be enjoyable at fireworks. You won’t worry about losing them in a crowd or annoying someone else because they’re whining.
Kids grow and mature, just like we do as parents. Don’t sweat it.
Enjoy whatever stage of parenting you’re in.
