I get a lot of feedback from people online. It’s actually a major source of my content. I have been working in the public eye for a long time and have had many, many negative comments through out the years. I am very aware that I am not everyone’s flavour, and I am also aware that I shouldn’t be. It takes all kinds to make a world. I have also had and do continue to get a TON of beautiful and kind comments.
I have been very fortunate since becoming a blogger, that I really have less and less negative comments. I think it’s because in this line of work people have the choice to follow or not follow you, where as when I was on TV with a station, the people who didn’t like me, were watching the station not me.
But recently I had a comment from a viewer that set me back and reminded me how much impact words truly have it also reminded me that every experience is an opportunity for a lesson. I recently had a “teachable” moment with my son regarding my new hair cut.
We have a lot of power with our words. What will you choose to do with yours? Watch the vlog and listen to the story of how I handled the negative comment and I also strongly encourage you to do this:
So the answer to the question: How do I handle haters and negative comments? Digest. Stop and think, and try to combat the negative with a positive.
